      Sutton resident Lois A Nuss, 83, died August 26 at Memorial Community Care in Aurora. Funeral Services were Aug 29 at Sutton Memorial Chapel with Rev Martha Nordt officiating. Interment was in the Sutton Cemetery.
      Nuss was born June 24, 1925 to Edward and Dora (Dennis) Majors on a farm near Elyria. At the age of four, she moved with her family to a farm near Sutton. She was baptized in the Methodist church in Sutton. She spent most of her young life in Stockham where she was a member of the Methodist Church and graduated from Stockham High School. She was employed for several years with the Telephone Company in Aurora.
      On May 18, 1946, she was united in marriage to Joseph Nuss in Belleville, Kan. and to this union three children were born. Her husband Joseph preceded her in death Sept 15, 1991. They lived and farmed in the Sutton Community and when she wasn't helping on the farm she enjoyed being a homemaker. She loved her family and friends, was an avid reader and wonderful cook. She was a true farm wife and helper. She loved to watch the fields and her garden flourish. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her special joy and she loved to share her time and stories with them.
      She was a member of the Evening Star Lodge #49 Sutton.
      She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and John Ortiz of Platteville, Colo.; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Linda Nuss of Sutton; son, Timothy Nuss of Sutton; grandsons; Brandon Chase and wife Manddi of Mead, Colo. and Justin Chase and wife Brenda of Ogallala; granddaughters: Andrea Davenport and husband Adam of Lexington, Ky.; Stacy Riley and husband Rustin of Columbus and Natalie Nuss of Kearney; great-grandchildren: Christian and Garrett Chase of Mead, Colo.; Samuel and Alexis Davenport of Lexington, Ky.; Keghan, Tucker, Cooper, Brayde and Booklyn children of Brenda and Justin Chase of Ogallala and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
      She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Ivan Majors, sisters Leona Miller and Fern Fisher and an infant great-grandson Ryder Chase.
