Linda Vie passed away in her home on May 26, 2012. Linda will be forever missed by so many. One quiet May morning she left us here to be with God.
Linda had moved from Eugene, OR to Camas, WA three years ago with her loving husband of 25 years. Linda and Curt had retired and wanted to live closer to their children and grandchildren. They shared a love for music, good food, knowledge, laughter, travel and providing a loving home for family and friends to visit. They often joked about being such opposites, but they complimented each other perfectly. Curt was the love of her life and her most valued partner on this earth.
Linda graduated cum laude from the University of Oregon in 1988 with a BA in Special Education. She taught in the Eugene area for over 24 years. Her teaching skills extended beyond the classroom as she placed a high value on education. She was known for encouraging and inspiring others to set and accomplish their goals.
Linda was a vital and active member of many local organizations. She loved to be around people who shared her positive outlook and sincere love of life, as well as those who valued service to others. She loved nothing more than to start her day walking in the serene surroundings of Round Lake Park with her friends of the Osprey Walking Group. She passionately volunteered numerous hours with the local chapter Camas Washougal of Soroptimist International. She spoke often of their very important mission. Late in life she rediscovered her love of sewing. She spent countless hours creating one of kind blankets which now not only comfort loved ones, but the homeless teen mothers and children of the Vida's Ark Shelter in Vancouver.
Linda had such a love of living and touched so many lives. She was so open to new adventures and different philosophies and certainly could have been a debater. Those who were blessed to know her were impacted by her laughter, competitive spirit, ability to mentor others and her strong desire to encourage education. She loved to read, do puzzle books, play/win at board games, go on walks, eat good food, go to the park, travel (especially if it involved Disneyland), laugh, go to the movies, hike, camp, swim, and be an example of living life to its fullest.
Linda was a loving mother and lived for the moments she spent with her daughter Pam, Son-in-law Roe, and Grandchildren Jordyn and Colby. She was always 'visiting' their home, babysitting, and curling up on the couch watching Disney movies or reading books. Jordyn was her buddy since birth, and they were inseparable. Colby always loved to see Grandma and snuggle up with her. Her son Scott put a smile in her heart with his laughter and humor. She enjoyed every moment she got to spend with him and Daughter-in-law Angie. She was so happy to see such a loving couple. Linda was very close and bonded to her daughter Shelley who will always remember the great conversations and laughter they shared. Linda counted down the days she got to spend precious time with
Shelley, Son-in-law Matt, and Grandson Owen. Owen loved his Manya from the moment they met in the hospital.
Her most cherished moments were spent with her precious grandchildren. Linda knew she was blessed to have her grandchildren: Brandon, Ashley, Jordyn, Owen and Colby. She was always willing to play a game, go for a swim, roast a marshmallow, read a book, watch a movie, play outside or give a million hugs and kisses.
There is a special place in her heart for her nephew Shag and his beautiful spirit that gave her a sense of well being and peace in her life. Her Sister Cheryl was her best friend from birth. They shared their life together, and their love of for one another's children and
the beauty of the world around them. Linda had touched the lives of numerous friends, cousins, nieces/nephews and will be so deeply missed by many.
When you think of Linda as we think you will…pick-up a new book to read or one evening step outside and gaze at the moon and marvel at the stars just like Linda loved to do.
May you feel her spirit shine down upon you.
