Marie D. Schatz, Former Lodian, Taken By Death
Mrs. Marie D. Schatz, 73, of 1421 W. Willow St., Stockton, a former resident of Lodi, died Wednesday night in a Stockton hospital after a short illness.
A native of Menno, S.D>, she lived in Lodi from 1929 to 1935 when she moved to Stockton.
She is survived by her husband, Gottlieb Schatz; a son; a daughter; a brother, Herbert Kuest; four sisters, Mrs. Tillie Reiman, Mrs. Ella Rapp, Mrs. Emma McDermott and Mrs. Martha Heimbigner and one grandson.
Burial in Lodi Memorial Cemetery.

Former Lodi Girl Dies In Stockton
Jacqueline Valencia Schatz, eight-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Schatz, formerly of Lodi, passed away in a Stockton hospital early yesterday morning from a spinal meningitis which followed a week's illness with measles.
The family recently moved to Stockton after residing here for a number of years. Besides her parents, she is survived by a brother and sister, Lawrence and Cleola Schatz.
Private funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Wells Funeral Home with Rev. Hugo Baumann, pastor of the German Congretational church, officiating.

Richard Schatz, Infant Son, Called by Death
Richard L. Schatz passed away at the family home in Lodi yesterday morning following a short illness. He was the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Schatz and besides the parents leaves the following brothers and sisters: Cleola Schatz, Lawrence Schatz and Jacqueling Schatz.
The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the O.H. Wells & Son funeral home. Interment will be in Lodi cemetery.
