Jake Genzlinger, 85; lifetime resident of the Burr community, died Saturday morning, Sept 21, 1968 at the home of a niece Mrs Theodore Hanneman and husband in Lincoln.
Mr. Genzlinger was born March 1, 1883 at Hollowayville, Illinois, the son of Mr. -and Mrs. Stephen Genzlinger. He was baptized, and confirmed in the Lutheran church. As an infant, he with his family came to Nebraska, settling in'the Saunders Creek community. He was-married to Viola Damme of Burr on Oct. 21, 1908. Mrs. Genzlinger passed away on Febr. 4. 1965.
He was a member of the Hope Lutheran church in Burr. He was a retired farmer, and trucker until recent years.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Lena Watermeier of Rapid City, So. Dak., and a number of nephews and nieces.
Funeral services for Mr. Genzlinger were held Tuesday afternoon at Hope Lutheran church in Burr with the Rev. Edward Keller officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery near Burr.
