Both parents were born in Ohio. In 1850, Jackson was 22, working as a carpenter, and living with Easter A. Craig (age 18, b. abt 1832 in Ohio) in Birmingham, Guernsey, Ohio.It is possible that Easter was his sister, as in 1860 there is an Easter A. Little (age 29, b. OH), married to carpenter Joseph Little. They are living in Guernsey County, Ohio, with their four children: Esther G., Helen A., Charles F., and George W. Jackson has moved to California, where, in 1860, he is a single man working as a carpenter.
In 1880, Jackson was a widower working as a carpenter in Pacheco, Castro Costa County. In 1900 and 1910, he was living at the Pacific Branch of the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, California (known colloquially as the Old Soldiers Home).
