Magdalena Renke, 93, Lodi, died Thursday morning in a local convalescent hospital following a lengthy illness.
A native of Russia, she moved to Colorado as a child and was raised in that state. She married Jacob Renke in 1910 and moved to American Falls, Idaho to farm. They returned to Colorado in 1924 to farm. They moved to Lodi in 1947, and Mr. Renke worked for Supermold until his retirement.
Mrs. Renke was a homemaker and active in church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lodi and the Women's Missionary Society.
Mrs. Renke is survived by two sons, Albert Renke of Lodi and William Renke of Colorado; six brothers, Fred Schmierer of Herold, Jacob Schmierer of Lodi, Ed Schmierer of Galt, Albert Schmierer of Antioch and Frank and August Schmierer of Colorado; four sisters, Caroline Hoffer of Chowchilla, Christina, Rose and Sarah Kitzman of Colorado; six grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Renke in 1976, and two brothers, John and Henry Schmierer.
Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the Lodi Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walter Dingfield of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Cherokee Memorial Park.
Friends may call Saturday after 8 a.m. Donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of the First Baptist Church.
