    • Sheila Davis:
      Jack R. Davis, Jr. passed away on October 21, 2017, at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado. He was 73 years old.
      Jack was born to Jack Roscoe Davis and Rosemarie Yvonne Potoski on May 3, 1944 in Billings, Montana. Growing up near Wyola (Big Horn), Montana, Jack loved hunting, looking for mushrooms, fishing, camping, and spending time in the mountains. He loved anything that included being outdoors.
      Jack enlisted in the United States Army after high school and was sworn in on June 26, 1962, in Butte, Montana. Basic training began at Ft. Ord, California on June 29, where he arrived by bus. On September 21, 1962, he was sent to Aerial Camera School at Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey. Jack was stationed at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma from March 15-October 4, 1963, where he weas part of the Ft. Sill Sport Parachute Club. On November 4, 1963, he reported to Ft. Dix, New Jersey, and seven days later, he was on a ship bound for Orleans, France, where he was stationed until March 1964. Jack was then stationed in Baumholder, Germany until June 1965. On June 17, 1965, at Ft. Hamilton, New York, Jack was honorably discharged.
      Upon completion of his military service, Jack moved to Denver, where he met his wife, Sheila. Together they raised their two sons. He worked for the phone company back when it was known as "Ma Bell." After 41 years of work, Jack retired on October 2, 2012.
      Jack was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law Rudy and Erna (Zimbelman) Schlepp; brothers-in-law Rodney Schlepp, Gene Gill, Carl Williams and wife Connie.
      Mourning the loss of Jack are his wife, Sheila; sons Terry of Littleton and Corey of Dallas, Texas; grandsons Aaron (Sarah) of Highlands Ranch, Jordan of Highlands Ranch, and Dalton of Colorado Springs; great-grandsons James and Harrison of Highlands Ranch; sisters DeAnn Folster (Les) and Cheryl Gill of Sheridan, Wyoming; nephew Jeremy Shassetz and niece Michele Folster of Sheridan, Wyoming.
      A memorial service will be held Friday, November 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227. Burial will follow at Ft. Logan National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Please join the family for a reception and luncheon at the funeral home after the burial.
