Annabel "Ann" Broeckel, 84, Bismarck, died October 03, 2003, at a Bismarck hospital after a short illness. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, Bismarck, with the Reverend Kermit Culver officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Ann was born February 23, 1919, in Underwood, North Dakota, the daughter of Frank Fischer and Emma Keel. She was raised in Turtle Lake, where she attended schools. Ann married Herbert Broeckel on February 28, 1937, at Turtle Lake. Together they worked and raised their family in Mandan-Bismarck.
She enjoyed a special, loving relationship with her husband, Herb, her children, and her grandchildren. Herb preceded Ann in death in 1981. Ann devoted the rest of her life as the true, loving leader and provider of wisdom for her family.
Ann's professional career was with J C Penney in Bismarck, retiring as personnel manager in 1972.
She is survived by four children, Gene (Ann) Broeckel, Chico, California, Dick (Jan) Broeckel, Phoenix, Cheryl (Roy) Doeer, Minot, and Joan (Terry) Brosseau, Bismarck; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; four sisters, Vi (Lloyd) Houstman, Bismarck, Joyce Hieb, Bismarck, June Thorson, Gainsville, Virginia, and Jean (Dale) Coleman, Baldwin; and one brother,, Frank (Marvel) Fischer, Jamestown.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved husband, Herb.
