Stanley Lester Funk, 74, died of heart failure Monday, January 1, 1996 at home.
Mr. Funk was born December 9, 1921 in Chambersburg, PA, the son of Miles Myers and Estella Mae (Sollenberger) Funk and lived there until moving to Dallas Center in 1945. He worked at the Heartland Coop in Minburn, retiring in 1984. He was ordained a minister of the Old Order River Brethren Church in 1973.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Harry and a grandson, Nathan Wayne Funk.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Susanna; five daughters, Mary Sue (Mrs. Jerry) Moss, Laura (Mrs. Nelson) Hawbaker, and Eva (Mrs. Daniel) Keller, all of Dallas Center, Rebecca (Mrs. Wayne) Miller, Quinter, KS, and Janet (Mrs. John) Dietz, York, PA; four sons, Wayne and wife, Kathleen, Bradford, OH, Philip and wife, Nancy, Kevin and wife, Becky, and Benjamin and wife, Deborah, all of Dallas Center; two sisters, Evelyn Dice of Chambersburg, PA, and Susan Pugh, Shippensburg, PA, and two brothers, Samuel of Chambersburg and Laswrence of St. Thomaas, PA, and 36 grandchildren.
Stanley and Norma celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Saturday, December 23, 1995 in Dallas Center.
