He died at age 78, on 6-5-1945, and funeral services were held Tuesday, at the C. F. Mock Chapel in Bell. He had been a resident of that community for seven years and was born in Minnesota Lake, Minn. He was survived by his widow, Mary, and three daughters who live in South and North Dakota. For the last four years he had been in failing health and was for some time unable to care for himself. He was remembered as one of the kindest and friendliest of men, seeming to always find it easy to go out of his way to be kind and helpful to others. He and his wife were loved and respected by others and they had many friends. While he was successful in business, as many who were advanced in age at the time of the depression, he was not able to recoup the unavoidable losses of that distressing period.
He left behind a widow, three daughters, nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
