Friederike Dauner was born in Bavaria, Germany, May 17, 1841. She came to this country in 1859 and in 1860 was married to Henry Rucklos, at Decator, Indiana. In 1874 Mr. and Mrs. Rucklos moved to Thayer county, locating on a homestead near Friedensau, where they resided until about twelve years ago when they moved to Deshler. In 1910 they celebrated their Golden Wedding surrounded by children, grand-children, friends and neighbors. About a year and six months ago Grandpa Rucklos passed into the beyond and Monday, April 10, Grandma passed from this life. The funeral service was conducted from the home and St. Peter's Lutheran church, Thursday afternoon of last week, Rev. Wm. Cholcher officiating. A large number of friends were present with relatives and neighbors to pay a last tribute of respect to one held in high esteem by all. To Mr. and Mrs. Rucklos were born eleven children: Lizzie Eyden, Emma Schmidt; Sarah Lierman of Filer, Idaho; Ferdinand of Lincoln; E. H. of Long Beach, Cal.; Henry and August; John of Bloomington, Illinois; Lydia Bundenthal, of Troy, Illinois; Hannah Nehrig and Martha Ehlers. All, except E. H., who was unable to be here on account of his wife's health, were present at the funeral. There are 41 grandchildren living. Six grandsons: Walter and Eddie Schmidt, Anton and Herbert Nehrig, Alvin and Herold Ehlers acted as pall bearers.
